I watched most of it and found myself enjoying the performance of all three stars. Don't know why it performed so poorly in theaters back in the '80s. I wonder how that story would play in today's 21st Century media world of sensationalized news, YouTube, etc.?Eric F.https://www.blogger.com/profile/05062980077091387176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1724537973285198834.post-47619585321094194622012-08-18T18:02:07.831-04:002012-08-18T18:02:07.831-04:00If you enjoyed "Switching Channels", you...If you enjoyed "Switching Channels", you got some pleasure from a remake and it did not hurt you. I know how you feel about these things but remember that the world is full of people who would never encounter a good story sometimes if it were not remade. How long after you saw the Kathleen Turner, Burt Reynolds, Christopher Reeves version was it until you saw the 1940s classic? The straight version of the original play with Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon was actually pretty good as well. Both Austin Pendelton and Henry Gibson were solid, milquetoast versons of Earl Williams. Richard Kirkhamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16428986542891346618noreply@blogger.com
